1) What’s Practique-español.com?
Practique-español.com is a tool for practicing and learning Buenos Aires’ Spanish in a personalized way. It contains various on-line services, from which you’ll be able to choose the ones more suitable to your needs.

2) Who is this service addressed to?
The services offered are addressed to people who’ve had some experience with the Spanish language, no matter at what level, and wish to improve their knowledge or to learn a specific variety of the language, becoming familiar with Buenos Aires’ culture.

3) What do the services consist of?
Services present different modes for you to choose according to your own interests. A description of each service is available in the website. In every case, you’ll have personal exchanges with a teacher that will be assigned to you as soon as you purchase a set of exercise or hire a service. This teacher will assist you throughout your practice. The next time you acquire one of our services, the system will assign you a different teacher.

4) Who develops its contents?
This approach to practicing, learning and improving was developed by teachers and linguists graduated from the University of Buenos Aires, specialized in teaching Spanish as a second language and experienced both in face-to-face instruction and on-line exchanges.

5) How do I know which service to take?
Based on the results of your level test, a teacher will recommend you where to begin your practice. You can then purchase the corresponding set of exercises, or get another one, or choose another service (tutorship). You must do the exercises in the established term and send them to your teacher, who will correct them and send them back to you with the appropriate comments. The teacher will also suggest the order to follow in doing the exercises.

6) What are the technical requirements?
It’s advisable to have the Flash plug-in installed. If you don’t have it, you can unload it for free from here. To learn how the sounds of the Río de la Plata Spanish are pronounced in colloquial, everyday sentences, you must have an audio system installed that allows you to hear the mp3 format. You must also be able to open .doc files to do the exercises. This file is a Microsoft Word™ document containing the exercises offered.

7) Is it necessary to have a special connection to Internet?
No. No. Excepting the level test, all the other exercises require you to unload a .doc file. Once you complete the exercises, you have to e-mail them to the assigned teacher, who will send them back to you with all the necessary corrections, comments and suggestions.

8) How do I find the available exercises?
There are different alternatives.
1) The Exercise Section describes all the kinds of exercises available and the two varieties of tutorship. Then, the available sets are shown in order according to their level.

2) You can use the searcher to locate the material according to the following guidelines: key word and level (Elementary 1, Elementary 2, Intermediate 1, Intermediate 2 and Advanced).

The following is an example of a key word search by "subjuntivo" ; if you don’t select a specific level, the search will show you all the modules including exercises with the required verb tense.

3) In the home page, at the bottom of the weekly notice, you’ll find a link that will enable you to see the previous notices. You have free access to the notice. To access the exercises prepared in connection with that notice and receive assessment from a teacher, you have to purchase the Tutorship service.

4) Once you’ve chosen the service to purchase, you’ll be able to visualize its contents (the sets of exercises and modules it contains). Before paying, a system of icons will enable you to see who the assign teacher is and to obtain additional information about the set in general and each module in particular.

9) How can I have access to the courses?
Once you’ve checked in and completed payment of the exercises or services requested, you’ll enter a personal administrative area. From there, you can request the exercises, which you will immediately receive by e-mail.

If payment can’t be completed due to administrative issues (problems in processing your credit card, you’ve just enrolled in PayPal and your account hasn’t been enforced yet, etc.) you’ll be informed and your request will be kept as “payment to be confirmed” until it is made effective. Once this happens, you’ll be automatically notified so you can proceed to unload your exercises.

10) How can I check my statement of payment?
To see your statement of payment, the exercises purchased, quotation requests, and current status of exercises, as well as to unload an exercise, you have a personal administrative area you can enter by identifying yourself with your e-mail and password.

11) Do exercises have a deadline?
No. Once you receive the exercise module, you can take all the time you need to complete it.
When you complete the exercises, you must send them to the assigned teacher, who’ll return them to you with corrections and comments, within a period of 48 hours. Upon receiving this reply, we advise you to go through the corrections and then proceed to the next exercise module. The teacher will correct each module only once.

12) Can I unload the exercises more than once?
Once you’ve purchased a set and unloaded an exercise module, you have a term of 72 hours to unload it again or three unloadings, whichever happens first. If, for technical reasons, that term were insufficient, you must contact the assigned teacher who will gladly help you solve the problem. The term is valid for each of the 4 modules that make up each set.

13) Are there other services offered?
Yes. We also do translations, edit texts and speeches, offer a tutorship service suited to your specific needs and organize updating courses combined with cultural and tourist activities in Buenos Aires city.

To get information about costs, you must be enrolled. This enrollment implies no binding agreement. Once your requirements have been considered, you’ll receive the corresponding cost quotation. If you accept it, you must enter your administrative area and effect payment. To enter this area you must identify yourself with your e-mail and password.

14) What do attendance courses involve?
Attendance courses are an alternative for those who wish to attend a full-time program in Buenos Aires city. These courses are offered at all levels. They enable you to get along in daily life situations and in those specific to your interests. They are combined with cultural and tourist activities. They can last 2, 3 or 4 weeks.
